Join us in exploring a deeper understanding of ourselves through self-inquiry in an open, friendly and supportive setting. By exploring the nature and source of our thoughts, feelings and beliefs with meditative inquiry, we create space for potentially transformative insight into ourselves and our life situation.
Inquiry Sundays are opportunities to explore the teachings of well-known or newly emerging non-dual teachers and their relevance to daily living. They often include screenings that are not readily available elsewhere, followed by an opportunity for shared inquiry and refreshments.
On Sunday, December 1 from 11am - 1 pm, we will be showing a particularly powerful session on Self-Inquiry with non-dual teacher Mooji, on DVD.
This will be followed from 2-4 pm by a videotaped dialogue about J. Krishnamurti's (K's) teaching by two persons deeply affected by it, including a recent Centre guest, Harshad Parekh, who has taught for more than 20 years in K schools.
Both presentations will be followed by opportunities for dialogue and are by donation. You are cordially invited to attend one or both sessions. In the latter case, please bring your own lunch.
On Sunday, December 8, from 2-4:30 pm the Krishnamurti Educational Centre of Canada will hold a free public showing at the Church of Truth in Victoria at 111 Superior Street in James Bay, hosted by Aleyona. A DVD with Krishnamurti on Meditation will be complemented by dialogue and tea.
Another study session K's "Freedom from the Known" (Ch. 5 on the nature of Fear) will be held at Swanwick on Saturday, December 14, from 2-4 pm, hosted by David Bruneau, again with the option of an overnight stay for a nominal charge of $20 plus tax. Overnighters please book in advance.
This will be followed on Sunday, December 15 from 1 - 4:30 pm by the monthly meeting of the Meditative Inquiry group hosted by Lynne.
From December 28-31 Lynne will also be holding a personal contemplative retreat at Swanwick and welcomes anyone interested in joining her during that time. K videos will he shown each afternoon from 2-4 pm and there will be opportunities for dialogue, silent meditation, as well as overnight stays at a reduced rate.
Anyone interested in participating in the Meditative Inquiry group or in this end-of year retreat, please contact Lynne here.
This season and change of year is of course also particularly opportune for reflection and contemplation by way of a personal retreat in our lovely, serene setting.
With our very best wishes for a wonderful holiday season and start into the New Year,
The staff of Swanwick Centre
