On Meditation
The theme for our November Inquiry Sundays is 'Meditation'.
We begin this Sunday, November 6, at 11 am with the morning session and 2 pm with the afternoon session. You are invited to attend one or both events.
In the morning session we will present a video interview and guided meditation with Timothy Freke, the author and passionate advocate of 'Lucid Living', followed by a guided meditation with well-known teacher Adyashanti from his book 'True Meditation'.
The afternoon session includes a video with J.Krishnamurti that clearly conveys his distinctive approach to meditation through inquiry into the nature of mind and attachment, followed by an opportunity for dialogue.
On Inquiry Sunday, November 20, there will be an afternoon session only, starting at 2 pm with a video talk by Eckhart Tolle on Meditation, followed by a guided meditation by his partner Kim Eng and an opportunity for sharing.
These events include tea and cookies and are by donation.
As a special opportunity to become acquainted with our growing collection of spiritual DVDs and books, the Swanwick library will in November be open on Sundays from 2-4 pm without the need for advance notice. You'll be able to find inspiration in a wide range of videos and books from spiritual teachers such as Eckhart Tolle, Adyashanti, Krishnamurti, Byron Katie, Mooji and many more (see partial list and borrowing guidelines). Tea will also be offered.
To more deeply connect with spirit and commune with nature you may also wish to plan for a personal retreat at Swanwick in the fall and coming winter months, a time of the year that invites stillness and quiet reflection.
